When students come to Greystone Nature Preserve we help them experience nature and use their own observations as a springboard for interactive environmental and natural science lessons. We enrich these lessons with local social and agricultural history, literature, and art. They include a variety of activities, both for learning and introspection.
Our lessons are designed for many learning styles and are inclusive for children of all ability levels.
To get the most of the experience, we recommend both a 45-minute classroom presentation to prepare the students and introduce them to certain topics and then a 90-minute field trip at our nature preserve. The program and lesson plan can be designed specifically for any class.
