Bat Watch Program 2018

Come relax and open your senses as the day time skies above Greystone Nature Preserve dim and then expand into vibrant evening colors. Many a miracle is waiting to be discovered in the vast horizon. View a spectacular sunset over Lake Erie and feel day turning to night. This event will also include a mini hike, A Bat Cave Learning Center, and some delicious bat themed treats. After the sun sets, there will be a fantastic opportunity to view bats and hear their calls through the newest echolocation tracking software. To add to the magnitude of the emerging stars, telescopes, binoculars and astronomers will be available. Fire spinning and hay wagon rides will happen on selected nights. A campfire, along with stories, hand drumming and songs will add a community touch. A Night Time Walk of Courage along a woodsy trail will challenge those who dare to trust in themselves and Nature.

This event is open to the public. No admission fees are asked, this is a donation bases event. Walking sticks, flashlights and camp chairs are encouraged. We ask that you arrive an hour prior to sunset times, which will be posted below.

Take this opportunity to feel the magic of day turning into night and become immersed in Nature through the hands on activities, learn about bats and come away with a new, personal appreciation of these acrobats of the night skies.
